Dr. Lisa Hatfield, DVM

Role at American: Veterinarian/Practice Manager

Dr. Lisa has been practicing veterinary medicine since 2007.  A native of an Iowa farming-community, she has always had a close relationship with animals.  She has worked in Illinois and Wisconsin, but has made Neenah her home.  Her interests are soft-tissue surgery, lameness, general medicine, exotics medicine, and in fostering the bond between owners and their pets.


Says Dr. Lisa:  “My favorite part of medicine is helping the entire family – no matter how many legs they have!  My clients are family.  We cry, laugh, love, and celebrate together every day.”

Dr. Lisa is a 2007 graduate of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She lives in Neenah with her husband, Dr. Steve Case, their son, two dogs, one cat, and two birds.

Role at American: Veterinarian

Dr. Steve most recently worked at Antioch Animal Hospital in Antioch, Ill. He offers full-time veterinary services for dogs and cats, with special interest in dermatology and surgical care.

Says Dr. Steve: “I am excited to be working with this passionate, energetic team and look forward to working with them to continue to provide excellent veterinary services to our clients and their pets.”

Dr. Steve is a 2005 graduate of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He lives in Neenah with his wife, Dr. Lisa Hatfield, their son, two dogs, one cat, and two birds.

Role at American: Veterinarian

Dr. Carla brings more than 27 years of experience as a Veterinarian to the clinic, primarily as a small animal practitioner, at clinics in Sherwood, Pulaski, Seymour and Appleton. She has extensive experience in general medicine, preventative medicine, parasite control, laboratory work, behavior counseling, companion animal surgery, and emergency care.

Says Dr. Carla: “I look forward to continuing to provide compassionate care, quality medicine and surgery for my patients.”

Dr. Carla earned her DVM from the University of Wisconsin – Madison School of Veterinary Medicine, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry with a concentration in Biology from Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa.


The Support Team

Shelly D

Role at American: Client Care Specialist

Personal Information: Shelly is a lifelong resident of Neenah and has been with AAH since early 2004. She has been married to Scott, the love of her life since 1994. They like to ski, boat and spend time with friends and family.

Pets: She has a Rottweiler named Gunner who was adopted from Smiling K9’s Rescue in Indiana. Gunner loves to run and have fun. Shelly loves the Rottweiler breed and has had 3 so far: Duke, Bear and now Gunner. She also has two adopted cats, Flash and Bucky, from Wish Upon a Paw.

What Shelly likes best about working at American: “Highest standards of care, awesome clients and coworkers and meeting the pets that come in everyday.”
